But Is It Really Better Than Sex?

Right off the bat, “Better Than Sex” by Too-Faced, is claiming something bold in their title. Better than sex, this mascara better be an amazing product. As someone who is fair skinned and freckled, I rarely use makeup. My periodic use of makeup though will usually just include mascara. For years I had just been using random drugstore mascaras for under ten dollars because I am cheap, but recently I have decided to treat myself and buy some nice mascara.

I had heard of “Better Than Sex” before and thought I would give it a shot. I decided to buy the waterproof kind because I wanted it to last throughout the day. I bought the tube at Sephora and it was $24.00, which is personally a lot of money for me to spend on one item, but I wanted to see if it was worth all the rave.

A little more background on the product, Sephora describes it as, ”A waterproof, intensely black, volumizing mascara with an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection.” It has no parabens, sulfates or phthalates, which are chemicals that are bad for your skin. Also, research they conducted found that ninety-seven percent of people found the mascara to give their lashes intense volume and length. They also found ninety-four percent of people said the mascara stayed put all day. These are pretty convincing numbers, so I really thought I would give it a try

I ranked these five categories out of 10 with explanations:

Length and volume: 9, As you can see in the images below, my length and volume increased a sizable amount as promised.

Stay: 8.5, The mascara really stayed well for the whole day and didn't come off onto my face. (which is one of my biggest pet peeves)

Waterproof ability: 10, I have to use makeup remover to get this mascara off. Even if I take a shower with it on, it will not melt away.

Design: 9.5, I love the over all design shown in the picture above. I think the idea that there are water droplets on the tube of mascara is really creative and effective.

Get Again: 9.5, I love this product and it does all of the things it claims to do, however I would like to try a non-waterproof mascara for an everyday use because over all it is not as harsh on your eye lashes.

All in all, I loved this mascara. I would and will be getting this mascara again, and would recommend it to anyone who asked. It was worth every penny, and especially if it lasts for months. The sleek design and full proof formula make for a great mascara.
