I love decorating my room whenever I get the chance, and that chance came when I moved into an apartment at the beginning of the semester. It started of as a challenge because my room is very small, but doesn’t every college student struggle with that? Well let me first walk you through how I used furniture and storage in an effective way to try and get the most out of the small space I was given.

.

First, the greatest part about my room was the size of the closet. It is semi-walkin and was able to hold all of my clothes except for my t-shirts and shorts, which are stored under my bed. I hung up all of my sweatshirts, dresses, shirts, and sweaters. Also I was able to place a small drawer storage container with three pull out drawers towards the back of my closet to hold my socks, underware, and bras. I also folded up my pants and used collapsible drawers to put them in. I hung an over the door shoe holder over the closet door, but since I do not own that many shoes, I put things like cosmetics and brushes in the pockets as well to save some space. I also have a shelf that holds my electronics and art supplies against one wall. Lastly, I have my desk and some drawers with school supplies. All in all the space I have is small, but I have made it work to fit all the things I need.

.

Now comes my favorite part- the decor. I have a lot of decorations in this room. My one wall, which is my favorite wall ever, consists of some home made decorations and bought ones. All of the quotes down the left side were all painted by me in the beginning of the school year. My favorite one out of those 4 is the “only in the darkness can you see the stars”. I then have some polaroids hanging up with a post card I bought of the infamous Cathedral of learning. Under those is a quote painted on wood that I bought, then a wall planter I made with a real succulent, and lastly in the column is an uppercase ‘E’ I painted. Moving over another column I have a nail and string map of the US that I bought, two self-painted quotes, and more polaroids. The last column has a painted quote, a collage, and my favorite part of this wall, my ‘love yourself’ part. I painted all the parts to is and have polaroids of just me lining it, to show some self love.

.

Next to that whole mess I have, there are two posters I bought. One is a disproportionate world map and the other is a print of the famous wave painting. Above my desk are more polaroid of my friends and some random relicts from this semester hanging to the left of them. My room has string lights bordering it, white lights and blue lights. I usually have on one or the other depending on my mood, but I never use my over head light because it is a little to harsh. So, if it is light out the natural lighting will light my room, but if it is dark then I light a candle and have the string lights going.

.

I hope you all enjoy the pictures and liked the tour of my room.
