Undefeated: Abby Volleyball Taking the Intramural Scene by Force

My experience with intramural sports here at Pitt started my first semester of freshman year. I was on a volleyball team where we lost every single game and a soccer team where I scored my one and only head ball goal ever. Both were with people from my floor, and I had a blast doing both. I did, however, have more fun with the soccer team because we occasionally won as opposed to the volleyball team.

This year I am sophomore, and a bunch of friends from my high school are freshmen this year. Coincidentally we all played volleyball in high school together. TJ and Charlie played on the boy's team, and Anna and I played on the girl's team. Since the boys played in the spring and the girls in the fall, we managed each others' teams, so we all spent a lot of time together playing volleyball in high school. So I thought to myself, why should that end? I knew that intramurals here at Pitt are super competitive, so as soon as I got to Pitt this fall I signed us up for a league.

So now that you know how to sign up for a team, I will walk you through our season so far. We have won all five games so far and have one more to go. Besides Anna, Charlie, Tj, and I we are joined by Anna’s friends, Evan and Julia, who are great hitters. We have played two pretty competitive, which we love because destroying a team is not the most fun. We have recently been placed in the playoffs for the whole league. We have to get through four games, and if we win the whole thing we get t-shirts. So wish us luck!
